EDITING INSTRUCTION FOR ICOME 2013

General recommendations

Dear authors,

To ensure a uniform layout of our proceedings volume, please respect the following recommendations:
  • File format: Word document .DOCX, version 2007, 2010 (please don’t use .DOC format from Word 2003)
  • Paper length: between 4 to 12 pages, only even numbers
  • Paper language: English, (with U.S. spelling)
  • For document formatting please use predefined page settings and paragraph styles which are bulit in the two files available here:

Using template file ICOME2013.DOTX

  1. Please copy the template file ICOME 2013.DOTX in the template location on your computer, (the same where NORMAL.DOTX file is), usually as bellow (where instead of %username% must appear the user name you have typped to loggin on your computer):
    For Windows XP operating system:
      C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
    For Windows 7 operating system:
      C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
  2. Create a new Word document using the New command from Office button (top left window corner) OB.
  3. From the New Document window select My Templates option, and after that select the ICOME2013 template.
  4. In the new document type your paper using the styles required, wich are available in the Styles pane (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S). These styles are named with the prefix ICOME_, and their scope, (details, are presented bellow).

Using sample file ICOME2013.DOCX

If you are not familiar with the use of template files you can use the document file ICOME2013.DOCX. In this one you can type directly, replacing in different sections with your text, but please use the same ICOME_ styles.

As an example, for a paragraph containing normal text of the paper, select as current style, (from the style pane or from Formatting toolbar) the style named as ICOME_TEXT. Just type the text; everything is already predefined (font, size, alignment, indentation and so one).
For other paragraphs containing subtitles, figures, equations, tables, choose the proper ICOME_ style.
Please use only the predefined styles and don’t modify the attributes or name of these styles.
